Privacy Policy
Dearest is built for private circles. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Information Dearest collects
- Admin email addresses, member email addresses, display names, circle names, and circle settings.
- Photos, notes, replies, opt-out commands, and email metadata needed to receive and send circle emails.
- Basic delivery and troubleshooting records, such as whether an email was queued, sent, or failed.
How Dearest uses information
- To create circles, send setup links, send reminders, process replies, and send Sunday digests.
- To manage opt-outs, notification preferences, deletion requests, abuse prevention, and deliverability.
- To improve the early product using aggregate behavior, not public profiles or feeds.
What Dearest does not do
- Dearest does not sell personal information.
- Dearest does not make circles public.
- Dearest does not use circle emails, photos, or notes to train AI models.
- Dearest does not require member accounts or a mobile app.
Who can see circle content
Circle emails are sent only to invited members who are eligible to receive them. In normal use, the Sunday digest goes to members who contributed that week.
Dearest may use trusted service providers for hosting, database storage, email delivery, and operations. They process information only to help run Dearest.
Choices and deletion
Members can update a current weekly post by sending another one, request to delete a current weekly post, or request to leave or stop emails by replying with the relevant command. Dearest confirms before changing anything destructive. Admins can remove members or delete a circle.
Deleting a circle removes its circle data from the active app database. Some provider logs or backups may remain for a limited time for security, reliability, or legal reasons.
